What is unique about The Yogic Path?

Although students may join at any time, the classes are structured in terms: Autumn, Spring and Summer.  The teaching builds week by week, enabling students to consolidate their experience and to bond with each other. Our West Hampstead classes are organised in 12-week terms or 4- or 6-week blocks. This is to provide a structured and stable learning environment.

The teachers are committed to the ethics and philosophy of Yoga. They observe their students carefully and help them to progress in a nurturing learning environment. As personal development is part of the Yogic process all the teachers continue to deepen their own Yoga studies.

We teach a wide variety of Iyengar Yoga postures, relaxation and breathing techniques, reinforcing key points and introducing subtle ones. You will be able to build a foundation of practice so that you can confidently make Yoga part of your life. If you are a new student, please see our FAQ page.

Students with a medical condition are advised to attend the Therapy Yoga classes.

Please email the teacher directly for the class you wish to attend and bring with you a filled in Application Form. Visit our How to Enrol  page for more details.

                         EXPLORING YOGA

Yoga should lead body and mind towards poise and tranquillity. Yoga practice addresses all mental and physical activity: ethics, rules for living, exercise, breath training, engagement of the senses, concentration, meditation and mystic vision. In these classes Mira builds on four themes. One concerns the principles that govern postures to allow them to yield a Yogic experience. The second is the interconnectedness of body and mind. The third is the result of Yoga practice: body tone, health, agility and steadiness of mind. The fourth is breath, mind, concentration and meditation. For this last theme she explains the theory and teachings of Yoga. A conscientious teacher, she encourages students to ask questions and clear doubts. Beginners are welcome.

Students will need to bring their own Yoga equipment.

Equipments to be brought:
1) 1 mat
2) 4 or 5 Yoga blocks
3) 1 blanket
4) 1 belt

                           JOY IN YOGA

Yoga should make you joyous. Circumstances and feelings usually occupy thought energies fully, giving little room for the experience of joy. Yoga strengthens mind and body, making them better able to cope with the vicissitudes of life. In this way the sway of negative emotions and adverse situations lessens and the mind becomes freer. A free mind has the ability to reflect on and understand everything. In these classes Mira introduces new postures to restore body and mind to harmony and explains how the teachings of Yoga link to practice. She also includes breath training, concentration and meditation to train the mind in abilities that are not used in everyday life. A conscientious teacher, she encourages students to ask questions and clear doubts. Beginners are welcome.

Students will need to bring their own Yoga equipment.

Equipments to be brought:
1) 1 mat
2) 4 or 5 Yoga blocks
3) 1 blanket
