This class
helps students deepen their understanding and practice of Yoga by explaining
principles and techniques. Covering therapeutic methods as well as intermediate
and advanced poses, the approach is both subtle and energetic. As such,
a good background of regular practice (3 to 5 years) is required.

Mira is recognised for her expertise in all aspects of Yoga, including
therapeutic work, philosophy and the theory of practice. She read Sanskrit
and Indian philosophy at Oxford and basic Ayurveda at an Indian University,
and has continued her studies with traditional scholars in India. She
began Yoga as a child with B.K.S. Iyengar and returns to India annually
for further study.
Mira's books on Yoga have been translated into many languages. They include
the best-selling textbook, Yoga: The Iyengar Way, Health Through
Yoga, which explains Yoga through Ayurveda and gives simple
therapeutic routines, and Yoga Explained, a
foundation course on practice and philosophy.
